Instrument Test Technician

Department: Elect Assembly Billerica
Location: Billerica, MA

Nova Biomedical is hiring an Instrument Test Technician in our Enterprise Rd, Billerica, MA facility. The Instrument Test Technician will have the ability to operate test and measurement equipment, such as Oscilloscopes and multimeters, to test instruments and assemblies. This individual should have excellent working knowledge of computers and electronic components. The Test Technician demonstrates proficiency with menu driven computer programs, follows verbal and written instructions, assists Group Leaders with calibration/maintenance of test fixtures, trains and assists lesser skilled technicians, and works closely with manufacturing engineering for method, troubleshooting improvements and validations. Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Loading software in systems.
  • Exceeding the set time standards for testing Instruments.
  • Completing quality work by self-inspection.
  • Recognizing defective materials and disposition them appropriately.
  • Implementing changes per ECO/MV requirements.
  • Working with R&D on new and unreleased product.
  • Troubleshooting Complex Instruments and Assemblies at testing and communicating to others.
  • Assisting Final System Test with troubleshooting units that may have issues.
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement Processes through Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, and 5S.
  • Training less skilled Technicians.
  • Continuing to acquire knowledge necessary to perform the duties essential to the present job as it evolves.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Instrument Test experience or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of ESD practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Inventory Control Principles.
  • Ability to read and understand OPs, OIs, TPs, or other supporting procedural documentation.
  • Flexibility in taking on different job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to solve a variety of problems of a Medium to High complexity and scope and requires reasoning to produce desired outcomes.
  • Ability to read and speak English.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good written and communication skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Degree from a technical school.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
