Nova Biomedical is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist I to join our purchasing department on-site in our Waltham, MA facility. This is a terrific opportunity for a new grad to join a growing medical device company.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, procurement and reporting activities within a specific commodity. You will report to the Purchasing Manager. You will be responsible for processing requisitions for MRO (maintenance, repair and operational) items as well as placing orders for cable assemblies and hardware, based on MRP requirements. You will manage and monitor supplier delivery and quality performance. You will solicit competitive quotations and proposals. You will react to MRP requirements and place orders accordingly.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Negotiate with current and potential suppliers regarding material pricing and delivery, in order to drive down aggregate cost and provide best in class level of service
• Plan, schedule and place purchase orders with suppliers based on MRP requirements and order policies. Follow-up with suppliers to resolve material shortages due to delays
• Develop strong supplier relationships
• Interact with other departments including R&D, Engineering, Accounting, and Distribution
• Comply with all applicable operating procedures
• Process requisitions in a timely and accurate manner, source material as required

Qualifications:

• BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration or other applicable discipline with 0-2 years of supply chain/ purchasing experience
• Strong Excel and Word skills; SAP experience is a plus
• Good communication, negotiation and analytical skills
