Applications & Support Specialist

Nova Biomedical is hiring an Applications and Support Specialist to support our Nova Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) subsidiary. This will be a multi-tasking position involving all aspects of clinical applications, training, and technical support, as well as direct & phone customer support in Australia and New Zealand for all Clinical Products. This position is intended to provide applications and technical service support for Nova ANZ customers for pre-sales and post-sales processes, such as blood-gas evaluations and implementations plus meters pre-sale analytical studies, post-sale implementations. and MASA preanalytical studies. Additionally, this position will provide applications, technical (phone & direct) assistance, and training for customers & end-users. The position will also work with Nova APAC-support and Nova corporate for escalation of issues pertaining to product quality. Other responsibilities include:

  • Perform & assist with pre-sale Clinical Blood Gas systems (Prime/Prime Plus) demo/evaluations & providing summary reports. Perform post-sale devices implementation/installations including all validation processes and reports, and all associated Operators training.
  • Perform StatStrip & StatSensor (all tests) meter Lab-Studies/Evaluations both pre and post-sales and executing meters implementation and validation processes with reports provided.
  • Provide hotline phone support for clinical customers for weekdays, and on-call (per schedule).
  • Provide service technical support for all clinical products for accounts in AUS and backup support for NZ. Support systems preventive maintenance and customer ambassador visits as scheduled/needed.
  • Provide operator training for Meter and Clinical Blood Gas product customers.
  • Support MASA evaluations directly for Clinical products, Meters, Allegro and Blood gas products, including customer training.
  • Do data tabulation for lab-studies, correlations, implementations and prepare Evaluation Reports for Clinical products.
  • Provide technical information and assistance for sales team for meter and blood gas systems.
  • Work with Support Manager to get Technical Service program SF.COM-Service SW installed & running in AUS/NZ.

Qualifications:

  • Clinical laboratory knowledge and/or POCT experience is essential for this position.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and statistics skills with Microsoft Excel capabilities is required.
  • Experience with Bedside Glucose Meters, Blood Gas systems and/or clinical chemistry systems is a plus.
  • Diagnostics industry &/or hospital (lab or POC-testing) experience is a benefit.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75%, country-wide in Australia and periodically in New Zealand.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to act as a resource to Nova ANZ Applications Support Manager, the Sales team AUS/NZ, and as technical/applications product expert for current and future customers.
  • Requires the ability to understand and educate end users and provide product application support to customers.
  • Possess the ability to perform data analysis in support of clinical applications requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with good customer facing presentation skills.
  • Strong self-organizational capabilities & having systematic and analytical work methods.
  • Requires excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to multi-task well, and be willing to put in extra time/efforts as needed to see projects and activities to completion.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree (or local equivalent) is preferred- in a medical/scientific discipline or relevant work experience in a comparable role.
  • Laboratory degree and/or biomed degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical diagnostics or related biotech experience (hospital, lab, &/or clinical diagnostics company)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical support or product specialist role would be a plus.
  • Field work experience is ideal.
