Electromechanical Assembler

Department: Mechanical Assembly Bil
Location: Billerica, MA

Nova Biomedical is hiring an Electromechanical Assembler to join our Instrument Manufacturing team in our Billerica, MA facility (Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM). The Electromechanical Assembler will assemble low to medium complex assemblies as determined by engineering. The Assembler will assemble units such as modules, chassis, mechanical assemblies, tubing assemblies, and packaging kits using assembly documentation. The Assembler will use small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, torque drivers, and wire strippers. The Assembler will determine the method and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available. The Assembler may operate automatic and semiautomatic assembly equipment. The Assembler may mix epoxies and use chemicals. Other responsibilities include:

  • Build and test sub-assemblies of Low to Medium complexity
  • Maintain accurate paperwork
  • Complete quality work by self-inspection
  • Meet the time standards for building assemblies
  • Recognize defective materials and disposition them appropriately
  • Assist in maintaining accurate cycle counts and reporting discrepancies to the Group Leader
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings
  • Assist in the training of other less skilled Assemblers
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Processes
  • Continue to acquire job and organizational knowledge necessary to perform the duties essential to the present job as it evolves

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of ESD practices
  • Basic knowledge of Inventory Control Principles
  • Read and understand OPs, OIs, or other supporting procedural documentation
  • Basic understanding of crimping and soldering techniques
  • Ability to read and speak English

  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and excellent attention to detail
  • Work in a team environment and collaborate with others

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 2 years of EM Assembler experience
