Mechanical Sensor Assembler I - First Shift

Department: Electrode Assembly
Location: Waltham, MA

Nova Biomedical is hiring a Mechanical Sensor Assembler I on our First Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) in our Waltham, MA facility. The Mechanical Sensor Assembler I is responsible for the processing of the various mechanical assemblies for both core and OEM analyzers. Under general supervision, this person will perform routine assembly operations. Must have the ability to work independently and efficiently. Required to manufacture only the highest quality assemblies while meeting manufacturing schedules. Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with various epoxies, solvents and chemicals as required during assembly.
  • Having a high level of attention to detail through all aspects of the assembly process to produce high product yields.
  • Setting up and operating a variety of production equipment such as scales, ovens, fume goods, laser coders, and soldering irons.
  • Being timely in execution of devices as other mechanical assemblers are dependent on these parts for assembly into more complex devices.
  • Understanding assembly procedures, drawings, verbal instructions and related process documentation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Read and write English and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Perform basic math and counting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Entry-level knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR).
  • Entry-level knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Entry-level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Basic Knowledge of the use of small hand tools.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to perform tasks that may involve for extended periods of time sitting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and turning.
    • Require repetitive use of arms/wrist/hands while setting up/working with test equipment/computer throughout the day.
    • Will require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may include, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, and gloves.
    • Must have good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
    • Must be able to distinguish colors.

Education/Experience:

  • High School/Trade School diploma
  • 0-2 years of experience
