About the role
The Vice President of Information Security and Infrastructure Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of our organization's IT infrastructure. This role oversees all aspects of information security, including risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, and data protection, while also managing critical infrastructure operations such as network administration, cloud environments, data centers, and IT service management. The VP partners with executive leadership to align technology strategies with business objectives, drives innovation in secure infrastructure solutions, and ensures operational excellence through robust governance and process optimization. A key focus is on fostering a culture of security awareness and resilience, while delivering seamless, high-performing IT services that support the organization’s growth and transformation goals.

What you’ll do
Security Strategy and Policy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security program, including security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Risk Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability tests, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
Information Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee the implementation of compliance measures and audits.
IT Infrastructure and Systems Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Ensure IT systems are reliable, scalable, and secure, meeting the company’s needs for performance and operational continuity.
Network Security Management:
- Plan, implement, and manage network security measures to safeguard the company’s data against external and internal threats.
- Regularly monitor network performance, ensure timely patching of vulnerabilities, and maintain updated documentation of the network topology and security measures.
Helpdesk and Support Oversight:
- Manage the helpdesk function, ensuring timely support for employees, proper resolution of technical issues, and high levels of customer service.
- Develop helpdesk policies and processes that align with company standards, ensuring IT support operations are efficient and aligned with security best practices.
Incident Response and Recovery:
- Lead the development and execution of incident response plans and disaster recovery processes to respond effectively to security incidents and minimize impact.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage and resolve incidents, as well as develop post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
Strategic Business Planning and Technology Acquisition:
- Work closely with executive leadership to support business development initiatives, ensuring security considerations are integrated into all technology acquisitions and IT projects.
- Evaluate technology solutions for business growth, understanding their security implications, and selecting those that align best with strategic goals.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead and manage the security, infrastructure, network, and helpdesk teams. Provide training and mentorship to ensure that team members are equipped to handle evolving security threats and technical challenges.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of security measures and foster a culture of security awareness within the organization
Monitoring, Reporting, and Executive Communication:
- Continuously monitor security, IT, and network infrastructure, providing real-time analysis of threats and developing strategies for their mitigation.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership on the state of IT security, network performance, helpdesk metrics, and ongoing initiatives, ensuring that security and operational resilience are understood and prioritized.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and procure hardware, software, and services related to security and IT infrastructure, negotiating contracts to ensure value and alignment with the organization's needs.
- Point person for all security and IT GRC related matters regarding customers, products, and enterprise technology.
What we are looking for in you
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related fields.
- 15+ years of experience in information security and IT infrastructure, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with managing complex IT and security environments, including cloud infrastructure, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for infrastructure management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including experience with helpdesk operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated contract negotiation skills for vendor and IT support services.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align IT and security strategies with business objectives.
- Risk Management: Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and mitigation practices.
- Incident Response: Proven experience in leading response efforts for security incidents, including data breaches and network threats.
- Communication and Leadership: Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with senior executives, and foster a culture of security awareness.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks.
- Team Leadership: Strong emphasis on collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning within the team.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technology landscape and respond to emerging threats effectively.

- Primarily performs work in an office or remote environment, requiring extended periods of sitting, computer use, and participation in virtual and in-person meetings.

Work Location: Onsite in out Waltham, MA office
Targeted Salary Range: $270,000 - $295,000/year.
