About the role
The Europe Distribution & Inventory Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of inventory, service levels, and distribution performance across all European operations, including 3PL (Third Party Logistics Providers) and internal warehouse networks. The primary objective of this role is to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient product distribution across Europe—maximizing customer service levels while optimizing inventory investment, transportation flows, and regional responsiveness.
This role partners closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, and the Director of Distribution & Planning to define inventory and service strategies aligned to regional market dynamics. It drives operational excellence across the distribution network by setting clear performance expectations, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring strong execution across all warehouse locations. This role is critical to ensuring business continuity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency across a complex European distribution landscape, while supporting broader transformation initiatives within the organization.

What you’ll do
Distribution Excellence: Ensure seamless order fulfillment, on-time delivery, and consistent service levels across a multi-country European network, balancing centralized and in-market inventory strategies.
Inventory Strategy & Optimization: Establish country and regional inventory strategies that account for demand variability, lead times, regulatory requirements, and service expectations while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
3PL & Warehouse Performance Management: Oversee and optimize the performance of 3PL partners and internal sites, including KPIs, cost control, capacity planning, and service reliability.
Regional Complexity Management: Navigate country-specific requirements including customs, import/export regulations, VAT considerations, and local service expectations to ensure uninterrupted distribution across the EU and UK.
Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure alignment with EU sustainability and regulatory requirements by consolidating, analyzing, and reporting relevant distribution and logistics data.
Commercial Alignment & Demand Insight: Partner with regional commercial leaders to understand market demand, align inventory positioning, and proactively respond to customer needs and supply risks.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement: Lead distribution-related projects tied to network optimization, warehouse consolidation, and shared services initiatives to improve efficiency, visibility, and scalability across Europe.
Governance: Promote standard work and governance for inventory management across OUS locations, including parameter review cadence, escalation paths, and performance review routines.
Operational Requirements: Work onsite full-time in Frankfurt, Germany. Maintain flexibility to occasionally participate in meetings outside local business hours to align with U.S.-based stakeholders. Travel periodically to warehouse locations as needed.
What we are looking for in you
A minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, logistics, production planning, warehousing, or supply chain leadership is required.
Substantial knowledge and working experience with ERP/MRP/Kanban systems are required. SAP experience is preferred.
Highly proficient in analytical data investigations, such as pulling data from ERP, defining and investigating trends, root cause analysis, and defining process improvement opportunities.
Experience reviewing, analyzing, and consolidating operational or sustainability data for regulatory, compliance, or management reporting is required. Familiarity with EU sustainability reporting requirements is preferred.
Highly proficient in computer skills and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines while ensuring overall quality of work.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, as well as a strong quality background, is advantageous.
Experience in regulated industries is advantageous.
ASCM CPIM or CSCP certifications are strongly preferred.
Must be flexible and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. The candidate must possess the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, a related field, or relevant employment experience.
